With Justin Trudeau's exit the relation between India and Canada has improved a lot. After years of misunderstandings, the countries suffered a major trust factor. With Mark Carney coming to power in Canada, relations seem to be far better and less strained. The trade talks have started again and both the countries are moving towards a better business-ambience era.

Ottawa, 19th of March, the Police Commissioner Mike Duheme addressed the press meet and confirmed, there are no longer clandestine activities and transnational repression taking place in Canada that are linked to the Government of India. The statement from the senior most Commissioner is a significant step from Canada towards a better trading partnership.

He said in an interview to CTV News of Canada, “We’re not seeing any connection right now with any foreign entity, based on the criminal info, the investigations we have presently” answering to the question whether Indian associated agents are still a matter of concern for Canada. He also added with the files we have in hand, we have no foreign interference in any form.

Last month Mark Carney visited India and key pacts were signed for rare minerals and Uranium. Subsequently proposed  Free Trade Agreement, for which the Indian Government has responded so far.
