New Delhi 20th of March, Delhi Police have arrested a sharp shooter and the arm supplier associated with the gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu. The Police seized two country-made pistols and five cartridges. Badar Islam (32) was arrested from Bulandshehar in UP.
The main accused , Sumit Punia (25), a resident of Mahendergharh in Haryana was arrested in Dwarka. The police recovered one country-made semi-automatic pistol with cartridges.
During interrogation Police discovered that Sumit Punia was absconding in the 2021 encounter case and he had the direct link with the Kapil Sangwan’s gang and was a sharp shooter in the gang. Badar Islam too was the arms supplier to the gang.
According to Police, Sumit Punia joined the gang in 2021,but Kapil Sangwan and Sumit Punia were childhood friends as they are from the same village.

Both Sumit and Badar Islam were wanted in many cases. There were several extortion cases on both of them. The Delhi POlice has given the hint arrest of Sumit and Badar may lead to series of arrests as both of them have long history of crime and they are associated with the gangster for a long time,
