Big Shock to KPSC: Exam Authority Slashed Amid Corruption Allegations! Candidates Rejoice Over Government Move

Amidst mounting questions regarding the transparency and functioning of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), the state government has taken a significant step.

Bengaluru: Amidst mounting questions regarding the transparency and functioning of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), the state government has taken a significant step. By stripping KPSC of the responsibility to conduct recruitment exams for the Agriculture Department and handing them over to the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), the government has indirectly signaled that "all is not well" within the KPSC.

Government Gives the 'Boot' to KPSC!

Until now, the recruitment process for the posts of Agriculture Officer (AO) and Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO) in the Agriculture Department was conducted by the KPSC. However, candidates were outraged by a series of ongoing scams, allegations of corruption, and a severe lack of transparency within the commission. Responding to this backlash, the government has now transferred the responsibility of conducting these exams to the KEA.

Key Reasons Behind the Government’s Decision:

Lack of Transparency: There have been persistent complaints from candidates that KPSC recruitment processes are opaque.

A Deluge of Irregularities: Serious allegations regarding question paper leaks and the involvement of high-ranking officials had even led to demands for a CBI inquiry.

Candidate Pressure: Aspirants believe that conducting exams through the KEA ensures much higher accuracy and fairness compared to the KPSC.

Joy Among Candidates and Future Demands

Competitive exam aspirants have celebrated this government order. Welcoming the move on social media, candidates are now demanding that no future recruitment exams be entrusted to the KPSC.

"Just like the Agriculture Officer recruitment, the Land Surveyor exams should also be conducted through the KEA. Corruption in the KPSC has crossed all limits, and it is best to scrap it altogether," is the unanimous demand of the aspirants.

What Does the Future Hold for KPSC?

The systematic withdrawal of exam-conducting powers acts as a mirror to the current state of the KPSC. At a time when officials themselves are accused of involvement in irregularities, curiosity is brewing over whether the government will eventually hand over recruitment for all other departments to the KEA.
