In India, works worth ₹1,007.83 crore approved under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme are yet to commence. No start dates have been fixed for these projects, and no data regarding them has been uploaded on the official dashboard.

This exposes serious inefficiencies in the implementation of the scheme. These projects mainly include basic rural infrastructure such as road construction, borewells, repair of tanks and check dams, water conservation structures, construction of shelter homes, and toilets.

However, all these works remain only on paper, with no visible progress on the ground. The scheme was launched with the objective of providing 100 days of guaranteed employment to rural households. Rubans American Diamond Zirconia Studded Bracelet Stylish Trendy Jewellery Gift for Women & Girls

Ironically, even though funds have been released, the works have not begun a glaring contradiction. Analysts point out that the main reasons for the delay are administrative lethargy, lack of interest among officials, issues related to land acquisition, delays in technical approvals, and hurdles in fund release.

As a result, rural families are being deprived of employment opportunities. Poor families living below the poverty line, women, and vulnerable sections are the worst affected.Sonia Gandhi Unwell: Visits Hospital for Treatment..!

If these approved works remain incomplete or unstarted, the dream of rural development will stay confined only to files. The government must treat this issue with utmost seriousness and take immediate steps to ensure the swift commencement of these works.
