Chikkaballapur: A movie-style drama unfolded near the Muneshwara Temple in Kodagurki village, Devanahalli taluk, Bengaluru Rural district. A man who was all set to marry for the second time without his first wife's knowledge was left utterly stunned by her sudden entry.
The Incident
The center of this high drama is a man named Suresh, originally from Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh. Suresh had married a woman from Manchenahalli village in Chikkaballapur about 20 years ago. However, due to domestic disputes over the last few years, she had been living away from her husband.
While living apart, Suresh prepared for a second marriage in secret, without obtaining a divorce or informing his first wife. The wedding rituals were scheduled to take place today at the Muneshwara Temple in Kodagurki village.
First Wife Storms the Wedding!
Upon learning about Suresh's second marriage, the first wife did not sit idle. She immediately gathered her neighbors and relatives and made a sudden entry into the wedding hall (Mandap). Suresh, who was seated as the groom amidst all the preparations, was left clueless and bewildered upon seeing his first wife. As an altercation broke out on the spot, the guests who had arrived for the wedding were also left in shock. Following the intense opposition from the first wife, the second marriage was halted halfway.
Case Reaches the Police
Following the incident, the aggrieved first wife has sought legal action against her husband. A complaint has been registered in this regard at the Doddaballapur Women's Police Station.
Since getting married for a second time while the first wife is alive and without a legal divorce is a crime, the police have now initiated an investigation against Suresh.
