Kachutoli, the muddy alley between rows of thatched sheds and underneath this, 80 Muslim families have taken shelter since September 2024. When their old houses were situated nearby, they were evicted by BJP government in Assam.

These sheds are blown away by the storm and no electricity and drinking water has made people’s condition miserable. 2 villagers were killed and more than 30 were injured in Police firing when the residents clashed with the Police in Kamrup.

On 13th of September, 2024, 950 Bengali Muslim families were evicted as they had encroached the land which was allocated to tribals. All of their houses, mosques were demolished and on February 22nd the Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Police campus in the same place.

40 families were evicted without prior notice near Digaru River.

After this Bangladeshi eviction program started 2200 voters are removed from the revised electoral roll published on February 10th.

The Bangladeshi eviction from Assam is happening at a rapid pace, around 2 lakh people are homeless and their future is at stake. Assam Government is not willing to give any facility to them and the Government has asked them to go back to Bangladesh. The CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is determined to drive away the Mia Muslims (Bangladesh Muslims).

The CM has indicated the future plan of Bangladeshi eviction and the Government would announce the time frame in near future.
