MUDA Scam: High Court Issues Urgent Notice to CM Siddaramaiah and Wife Parvathi!

The lower court had previously accepted the 'B-Report' (investigation report) filed by the Lokayukta police in the MUDA case. Challenging this order, social activist Snehamayi Krishna filed an appeal in the High Court.

Bengaluru: In connection with the highly discussed Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) illegal site allotment case, the Karnataka High Court has issued an urgent notice to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife, Parvathi.

What is the case?

The lower court had previously accepted the 'B-Report' (investigation report) filed by the Lokayukta police in the MUDA case. Challenging this order, social activist Snehamayi Krishna filed an appeal in the High Court. After hearing this petition, the court has now issued notices to the CM and his wife.

Who has been served the notice?

The High Court has ordered notices not just to the Siddaramaiah couple, but to others involved in the case as well:

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi.

Other accused in the case, Mallikarjunaswamy and Devaraju.

Investigative agencies, namely the Lokayukta Police and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Hearing Postponed

After listening to the arguments of the petitioner, the High Court directed that notices be issued to all respondents. The next stage of the hearing will proceed based on the responses provided by the defendants to these notices. For now, the High Court has adjourned the matter. This development has once again created a stir in state politics, sparking discussions about the possibility of increasing legal hurdles for CM Siddaramaiah.
