Bengaluru: The countdown has begun for the high-voltage RCB match scheduled for March 28 at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium. In light of the game, the Traffic Police have implemented strict measures to manage congestion around the stadium and ensure public safety. Several major roads will be closed to traffic, with alternative routes and designated parking spots identified.
Tight Security and AI Surveillance
To prevent a repeat of last year's unfortunate incidents, the police are on high alert this time. The entire stadium perimeter is under the watch of over 500 CCTV cameras and state-of-the-art AI-powered surveillance. Additionally, 9 ambulances and medical teams have been stationed for emergency assistance.
Which Roads are Closed? (Traffic Diversions)
Traffic will be restricted or diverted on the following routes during the match day:
Queens Road: Complete traffic restriction. Balekundri Road and CTO Junction will remain closed.
M.G. Road: Traffic prohibited from Anil Kumble Circle to the Junction.
Connecting Roads: Access between M.G. Road and Cubbon Road via Link Road has been cut off.
Other Routes: Restrictions apply to Raj Bhavan Road, T. Chowdaiah Road, Race Course Road, and Kasturba Road (up to Hudson Circle).
St. Marks Road: Traffic prohibited from Cash Pharmacy Junction to Anil Kumble Circle.
Where to Park? (Parking Facilities)
Motorists can park their vehicles at the following designated locations from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM:
St. Joseph’s Indian High School Ground.
St. Joseph’s School Ground.
Freedom Park (MLCP Parking).
Garuda Mall Parking.
Shivajinagar Bus Stand (1st Floor).
Note: Parking is strictly prohibited on Central Street and in front of Bal Bhavan.
Entry and Exit Information
Entry Gates: E1, E2, E3, E18, E19, E22, and E11 to E17.
Exit Gates: E5, E8, E9, E9A.
Special Entry: Gate E10 is reserved exclusively for players, VIPs, and dignitaries.
Cab Pick-up/Drop Points: BRV Ground (Gate 6) and Manekshaw Parade Ground (Gate 3).
Important Instructions for Spectators:
Metro Facility: Namma Metro will operate trains every 3 minutes to accommodate the crowd.
Timing: Entry to the stadium will be allowed 4 hours prior to the start of the match.
Tickets: Entry is permitted only for those with online tickets. Carrying the original ticket is mandatory.
Police Appeal: Due to expected heavy traffic congestion around the stadium, the public and fans are requested to use BMTC buses or Metro services as much as possible.
