The Lok Sabha will hold a discussion on Monday regarding the government's efforts to completely eradicate Left-Wing Extremism from the country.

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha will hold a discussion on Monday regarding the government's efforts to completely eradicate Left-Wing Extremism from the country.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat has included the topic in its agenda for debate.The discussion will review the Centre’s initiatives to make India a Naxal-free nation.

Security forces have successfully destroyed Naxal hideouts and neutralised or arrested several Maoist leaders. According to recent reports, the number of Naxal-affected districts has dropped significantly from 126 in 2014 to 11 in 2025, and further reduced to 7 districts now.

These remaining districts are Bijapur, Narayanpur, Sukma, Kanker, and Dantewada in Chhattisgarh West Singhbhum in Jharkhand and Kandhamal in Odisha.This achievement stands as a testimony to the government’s firm resolve and the sacrifices made by security personnel.Amit Shah says Naxalism has been completely wiped out. TDP MP Byreddy Shabari and Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde will initiate the discussion in the Lok Sabha under Rule 193, which does not involve voting.

The government has also accelerated development works in Naxal-affected areas, including roads, schools, hospitals, and employment opportunities. This has helped bring local communities into the mainstream and reduced support for Naxalites.

Security forces have carried out major operations like ‘Operation Black Forest’ to push back extremists.This discussion holds great importance for the country’s internal security. The government’s efforts towards realising the dream of a Naxal-free India are commendable. However, challenges remain in the few leftover districts. With continued support from security forces and local people, the aim is to completely resolve this issue.
