Moved In Just A Week Ago! Bengaluru Siblings Brutally Assaulted by Landlord Over Increased Rent Demand

Just a week ago, Naresh, along with his brother Sachin and sister Rekha, had moved into a rented house in Kodihalli.

Bengaluru: Disputes between landlords and tenants are not uncommon in the Silicon City. However, a trivial argument over escalating utility bills took a horrific turn in Bengaluru, leading to bloodshed and a police case.

The shocking incident took place on March 29 in Kodihalli, under the jurisdiction of the Jeevan Bima Nagar (JB Nagar) police station, where a landlord's family allegedly attacked their new tenants with a knife and a blade.

The Dispute: What Triggered the Fight?

Just a week ago, Naresh, along with his brother Sachin and sister Rekha, had moved into a rented house in Kodihalli. However, the peace was short-lived as harassment from the house owners began almost immediately. The landlords, identified as Shobha and Devaraj, demanded more money, citing that the prices of gas and water bills had gone up.

When the tenants questioned this sudden demand, the landlords allegedly harassed them and threatened to throw them out of the house immediately if they didn't pay up.

Brutal Assault with Knife and Blade

The argument quickly escalated into a heated physical altercation. During the fight, Shobha, Devaraj, and their children allegedly ganged up and launched a brutal assault on Naresh, Sachin, and Rekha.

Height of Cruelty: The landlords allegedly used a knife and a blade to attack the tenants. Naresh and his siblings sustained severe injuries to their faces, heads, and other parts of their bodies. Shockingly, it is also alleged that when Rekha fainted during the chaos, the attackers showed extreme depravity by pouring water on her to mock her condition.

Police Complaint Filed

Covered in blood, Naresh and his siblings rushed to Victoria Hospital, where they received treatment for their injuries. Following the medical treatment, Naresh lodged a formal complaint. The Jeevan Bima Nagar police have registered an FIR and are currently investigating the matter.
