New Delhi: The Delhi Court has granted the extension to NIA for the seven foreign nationals held under UAPA act. NIA had requested earlier for more time for interrogation of the conspirators.
In the court order dated March, 27, 2026, the reason for the seven foreign Nationals coming to India and why did they travel to Myanmar, why were they in the possession of drones, whom were they training to use drones, any locals involved in the terror act. Since the court need the complete answer to every aspect of the investigation, and the nature of the case is very sensitive and pertaining to National security, the Court granted extension of 10 days to NIA.
The special Judge Prashanth Sharma allowed 10 more days of custodial interrogation and ordered a thorough grilling of the conspirers and to reach to the roots of their intentions.
On March 16th, court had ordered 11 days of time for the custodial interrogation to NIA. NIA took six Ukrainians and one US national to their custody. The Court also turned down the foreigner’s pleas as they did not have adequate documents for travelling, especially in Guwahati, where they should have taken Restricted Area Permit and Protected Area Permit.
