The CCB (Central Crime Branch) police have busted a major racket that was cheating the public by selling fake watches under the pretext of 'off rate' and 'cheap rate'.
The Lure of Half Price!
For instance, these fraudsters would make people believe they were offering branded watches worth ₹5,000 for just half the price. Trusting their words, many people have been cheated by purchasing these fake watches, thinking they were original.
Five Miscreants Trapped by CCB
The CCB police have successfully arrested five accused who were illegally selling fake watches under the name of the famous brand Titan. The arrested accused have been identified as:
Harish Kumar
Syed Jaisad Iqbal
Mohammad Habib Hussain
Khaleem Ulla
Abdul Rehman
Seizure of Goods Worth ₹25 Lakh
The officials of the Economic Offenses Wing of the CCB conducted the operation and seized around 670 fake watches worth a whopping ₹25 lakh from the arrested individuals. It is alleged that these accused were openly selling these fake watches in various shops across Bengaluru's R.T. Nagar and Chickpet areas.
Racket Exposed by Titan's Complaint!
Titan Company had filed a complaint with the police stating that their brand name was being misused and fake watches were being manufactured and sold in the market. Based on this complaint, the CCB police took up the investigation and trapped the accused.
Currently, the CCB police are conducting a deep investigation to find out where the accused were manufacturing these fake watches and if anyone else is involved behind this. Do not blindly believe it if branded items are available at a heavy discount on roadsides or in unauthorized shops. Always buy products from authorized showrooms.
