“He Has a Habit of Eating Mutton”: Yatnal Takes a Sly Dig at CM Siddaramaiah in Bagalkote

Giving a warning in a humorous tone to the party workers, he concluded by saying, "If you do not unite now, mind you, in the future, you will only be left with IPL tickets and nothing else!" leaving the entire meeting in splits.

Bagalkote: Known for his blunt, straight-talking, and fiery statements, BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal caused quite a stir—and a lot of awkwardness—by pulling the legs of his own party leaders during a campaign meeting in Bagalkote. Yatnal's remarks specifically targeted former minister Murugesh Nirani and former MLA Mallikarjun Charantimath, both of whom were sharing the stage with him. His jibes have now sparked intense discussions in political circles.

Mocking Charantimath by Narrating the Story of the Pandavas!

Addressing the gathering, Yatnal brought up internal party differences by giving the example of the epic Mahabharata. "Arguments between brothers happen in every household. There were fights even in the Mahabharata, and there used to be defections too," he said before narrating the story of the Pandavas.

Turning to Mallikarjun Charantimath, who was sitting right next to him, Yatnal took a dig, saying, "Brother, let's not fight... they have set fire to our own houses. Now Siddaramaiah has entered our house. The moment Siddaramaiah arrived, things spread this wide..." he poked sarcastically.

Taking a shot at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's food habits without explicitly naming him, he joked, "Let him go there after the elections... Then who is it? Charantimath.. Math.. (referring to his name) He has the habit of eating Mutton (rhyming with Math and referring to Siddaramaiah)!" This sent a wave of laughter through the crowd.

Gesturing at Nirani, Yatnal Talks About Fighting Face-to-Face!

Publicly bringing up his old, bitter political rivalry with Murugesh Nirani at the meeting, Yatnal said, "Look at us, we who used to fight so much are sitting on the exact same stage today."

Pointing directly at Murugesh Nirani on the stage, Yatnal added, "Look how those who fought so much are on the same stage now! Didn't we once fight face-to-face and now we have united? Therefore, workers, you too forget all your differences and unite."

Giving a warning in a humorous tone to the party workers, he concluded by saying, "If you do not unite now, mind you, in the future, you will only be left with IPL tickets and nothing else!" leaving the entire meeting in splits. While Yatnal's speech caused clear embarrassment to the local BJP leaders on stage, it provided full entertainment to the party workers in attendance.
