The Meerut Police have arrested five individuals, including the wife of a BSF jawan and her lover, for the premeditated murder of the soldier while he was on leave. The investigation revealed a chilling plot fuelled by an extramarital affair and persistent domestic friction. The victim is Nain Singh (35), a BSF constable posted in West Bengal, had come home on leave to Dhanpur village on March 6th, 2026. On March 28th, Singh was shot dead from close range while he was sleeping. Initially Singh’s father suspected the land dispute with his neighbours must have been the reason for the murder.
Meerut’s SSP Avinash Pandey later stated, with technical details and call history, the police are suspecting Nain Singh’s wife Komala Devi. The police later disclosed the crime story in detail.
Komal was in long-term relation with Gulshan, who also happen to be Nain’s cousin. Singh had come to know the affair and frequently taunted and humiliated Komal and Gulshan, leading to intense psychological rift. Apart from Gulshan and Komal, Rahul, Guddu and Montu also participated in the crime. All were arrested by Meerut Police and recovered a country-made Pistol and ammunition.
