Ramanagara: In a major breakthrough regarding the attempt to murder City Municipal Council (CMC) member and rowdy-sheeter Ajmath, the Ramanagara police have conducted a swift operation and arrested a total of five accused. The arrested individuals have been identified as Barkath, rowdy-sheeter Tufail Khan, Arbaaz, Sayyad, and Haider. All of them have been taken into custody and are being interrogated by the Ramanagara Town Police.
What Happened?
On March 27, this gang attacked CMC member Ajmath in a public place. Armed with lethal weapons like long-swords and machetes, the miscreants attempted to hack Ajmath to death in broad daylight. However, Ajmath managed to escape from the spot in the nick of time and survived by a hair's breadth.
Cars and Bikes Smashed!
Infuriated by Ajmath's escape, the gang headed to his residence. There, they vented their anger by smashing the cars and bikes parked near his house before fleeing the spot. This horrific incident had created widespread panic and sensation across Ramanagara. A case regarding this was registered at the Ramanagara Town Police Station.
What is the Real Motive Behind the Attack?
The real motive behind the murder attempt was revealed during the preliminary police investigation. It is alleged that the CMC member Ajmath was harassing Tabassum, the elder sister of Barkath, who is the prime accused in the case. Enraged by the harassment meted out to his sister, Barkath hatched a plan to eliminate Ajmath. To execute this, he formed a gang with his friends, including rowdy-sheeter Tufail Khan, and launched the attack on March 27. The police have currently taken all five into custody and are proceeding with further legal action.
