Bengaluru: Serious allegations of sexual harassment have surfaced against Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swamiji of the Kudalasangama Mahapeetha, a prominent leader in the Panchamasali reservation movement. A victim has officially filed a complaint regarding the matter with the State Women's Commission.

Details of the Complaint

According to the complaint filed by the victim, she became acquainted with the Swamiji during his visits to Bengaluru. Having supported his various movements, the woman was reportedly invited by the Swamiji to the Mutt. She alleges that during her visit, the Swamiji misused her trust under the pretext of giving 'Prasada' and sexually exploited her.

Allegations of Blackmail Using Private Videos

The most shocking aspect mentioned in the complaint involves threats regarding private video recordings.

The victim alleges that private videos were filmed without her knowledge during the assault. She claims the Swamiji is now threatening to leak these videos on social media platforms. The woman further stated that he calls her every night, demanding "naked video calls" and threatening to circulate the clips if she refuses.

"The Swamiji used indecent language and touched me inappropriately. I am under severe mental stress and constant fear because he is blackmailing me with the video," the victim explained in her complaint.

Demand for Investigation

The woman has urged the Women's Commission to take strict legal action against Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swamiji for physical and mental exploitation. These serious allegations have sent shockwaves through both religious and political circles in the state. As of now, no official response has been released by the Swamiji or his representatives. It remains to be seen what steps the Women’s Commission will take based on this formal complaint.
