Drunk Gas Agency Staff Thrashed After Denying Cylinders to Locals

"None of us common citizens assaulted him. It was his own relatives, fed up with his behavior, who beat him up. However, an attempt is now being made to pin the blame for the assault on the general public," the villagers expressed angrily.

Belagavi: An incident of public outrage due to the negligence of a gas agency staff member has been reported in Kerawada Gundenatti village of Khanapur taluk. Citizens who came to collect their cooking gas (LPG) cylinders were shocked to find the staff member fast asleep in the office in a heavily intoxicated state.

Public Struggles for the Last 3–4 Days

Chandrashekhar Talwar, a resident of Handur village who works at the gas agency, had reportedly been unresponsive to the public for the past few days. Whenever people approached him for gas, he would send them back claiming there was "no stock." This had left residents of the rural area struggling to cook meals.

Staff Found Drunk Inside the Office!

Today, when people arrived at the office demanding gas, they found Chandrashekhar lying on the floor, passed out from alcohol consumption. Furthermore, gas passbooks belonging to the public were scattered everywhere in a chaotic manner. It is alleged that when questioned, he used abusive language and gave arrogant responses to the villagers.

Locals Record Video; Staff Gets 'Public Justice'

Infuriated by the staff member's behavior, the locals captured the scene on their mobile phones. During this time, a heated argument broke out, and the situation escalated. Chandrashekhar was subsequently thrashed by those present.

Clarification from Villagers:

In conclusion, the residents of Kerawada Gundenatti have demanded strict action against the agency and the staff member for showing such negligence in providing an essential service like LPG distribution.
