Ramanagara: An incident where a thief stole a scooty parked in front of a house late at night has occurred in Manjunatha Nagar of the district headquarters. The public has expressed outrage, alleging that the police department has remained a silent spectator despite a series of bike thefts taking place in the city.
The Late-Night Crime
The stolen scooty belongs to Renukaiah, a resident of Manjunatha Nagar. As usual, the scooty had been parked in front of the house after he returned from work at night. However, a thief arrived late at night and fled with the vehicle.
Thief Caught on CCTV
The entire theft has been recorded by the house's CCTV camera. In the footage, the culprit, with his face covered with a cloth, can be seen stealing the scooty with ease. The police have currently launched an investigation based on this video.
Public Outrage Against Police
Bike theft cases have been on the rise in Ramanagara recently. Allegations have surfaced that the Ijoor police have failed to track down the thieves. "There is no protection for our property; the police must immediately increase night patrolling," demanded the residents of Manjunatha Nagar.
Visit to the Spot:
Upon learning of the theft, the Ijoor police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the Ijoor Police Station, and the authorities are searching for the thief using the CCTV footage.
