"BJP’s Conspiracy to Blame State Government for LPG Shortage": KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshman

He further criticized that some people speaking against the government under the banner of auto-unions are doing so at the behest of the BJP. Lakshman remarked that those making baseless allegations against the State Government lack basic common sense and clarified that the state has no role in the fuel supply issues.

Mysuru: KPCC spokesperson M. Lakshman has lashed out at BJP leaders, accusing them of spreading false propaganda against the State Government by leveraging the current LPG gas shortage in the state. Addressing a press conference in Mysuru today, he alleged that BJP leaders, who lack basic knowledge of fuel supply and price regulation, are attempting to incite auto-drivers against the administration.

Fuel Supply is the Centre’s Responsibility, Not the State's!

"Fuel supply is the responsibility of the Central Government. However, instead of questioning the Centre, BJP leaders are blaming the State Government. This is a pure conspiracy. There are a total of 372 LPG gas stations in Karnataka, and gas is supplied to these by oil companies. Don't they know that this entire supply process falls under the Central Government?" Lakshman questioned.

Gas Sold at ₹162 per kg in the Black Market!

Providing details on the price hike, he said, "Just a month ago, the price of gas was ₹60 per kg. But now, it is being sold at ₹162 in the black market. This has put approximately 5 lakh auto-drivers and gig workers in the state in deep trouble. The Centre's flawed policies are the reason for this price hike and shortage."

Objection to the Silence of Central Ministers

Slamming the MPs and Central Ministers from the state, Lakshman said, "Despite such a massive crisis in the state, Central Ministers like Pralhad Joshi, V. Somanna, Shobha Karandlaje, and H.D. Kumaraswamy have not uttered a single word. Kumaraswamy demands that the State Government provide compensation to auto-drivers. Why should the State Government pay when fuel supply is the Centre's job? If they have the guts, let them get compensation sanctioned from the Central Government."

"BJP Leaders Lack Common Sense"

He further criticized that some people speaking against the government under the banner of auto-unions are doing so at the behest of the BJP. Lakshman remarked that those making baseless allegations against the State Government lack basic common sense and clarified that the state has no role in the fuel supply issues.
