Mamata Banarjee, known for her rhetorics, has yelled at BJP once again, accusing BJP of bringing in external elements and outsiders from the state to influence the election. Banerjee suspected that during the Assam Assembly elections on April 9, 2026, the BJP brought in a "trainload of 50,000 people" from Uttar Pradesh. She claimed the BJP took this decision because they were "not confident of victory" with the votes of the local residents of the northeastern state. She cautioned that the BJP is attempting a similar "voter hijacking" in West Bengal by bringing in non-residents from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to influence the polls scheduled for April 23 and 29, in WB.
