Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome in the state capital today (Wednesday, April 15) as he arrived to participate in various programs at the Adichunchanagiri Math. Beyond the formal welcome, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah drew significant attention by submitting a memorandum containing 18 key demands related to the state's development.

Reception at HAL Airport

Upon his arrival at Bengaluru's HAL Airport on Wednesday morning, PM Modi was cordially received by CM Siddaramaiah with a flower bouquet. Following the protocol of the welcome, and keeping the state's interests in mind, Siddaramaiah handed over the list of demands to the Prime Minister. After accepting the memorandum, PM Modi held a brief personal consultation with the Chief Minister.

What’s in the Memorandum? The 18 Key Points

Sources confirmed that the memorandum includes a total of 18 crucial points concerning the overall development of the state. The highlights include:

Financial Grants: Immediate release of the ₹2,860 crore special grant due to the state as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission.

Infrastructure Development: Central assistance for improving basic infrastructure in Bengaluru and other major cities across the state.

Railway and Irrigation: Acceleration of pending railway projects in the state and a "green signal" from the Centre for major drinking water projects.

Pending Dues: Release of outstanding funds owed to the state under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

Details of the Prime Minister's Visit

From the airport, Prime Minister Modi proceeded directly to the Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, where he inaugurated the newly constructed Shri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandir. Following this religious event, he continued his journey toward Mandya. Amidst the political developments following the Lok Sabha elections, this personal consultation between the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, along with the submission of state demands, has piqued intense interest in political circles.
