Bengaluru: As the investigation into the Bitcoin scam intensifies, sensational stories regarding the financial ties between Mohammed Nalapad and hacker Sriki are emerging. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now probing a bizarre incident involving a luxury Porsche car.
What Happened on Lavelle Road?
Around 2015-16, Mohammed Nalapad, Sriki, and the son of a DGP visited a premium pre-owned luxury car showroom on Bengaluru’s prestigious Lavelle Road. A high-voltage drama unfolded when the group sought a test drive of a Porsche.
Sriki Set the Car Seats on Fire!
During the test drive, Sriki attempted to smoke a cigarette inside the car. When the showroom executive objected, a heated argument ensued. To flaunt their "power," the gang purchased the car on the spot by paying ₹57 lakh!
However, the car wasn't bought for travel; it was bought for revenge:
Immediately after the purchase, Sriki parked the car right in front of the showroom and smoked.
He deliberately flicked cigarette ash onto the expensive leather seats.
Not stopping there, investigation sources reveal that he used a lighter to set the car seats on fire in an act of pure vandalism.
A Loss of ₹10 Lakh in Just a Few Days!
After damaging the car in the name of "fun," the gang returned to the same showroom just a few days later to sell it back.
Purchase Price: ₹57 Lakh
Resale Price: ₹47 Lakh
The core of the ED investigation now focuses on the fact that Nalapad allegedly made the payments for Sriki’s destructive ego-trip.
The Noose Tightens
In 2024, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CID had already interrogated Nalapad and the DGP’s son, recording their statements regarding this case. The ED is now investigating the original source of the funds used for Sriki’s high-flying lifestyle and examining other documented financial transactions between the duo.
