The exams are scheduled for April 22, 23, and 24, with the Kannada language test held on the first day. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has made extensive arrangements for a transparent process, including a mandatory and strict dress code for all candidates.

Bengaluru: The Common Entrance Test (KCET-2026) for admission to prestigious professional courses in the state will commence tomorrow, April 22. Examinations will be conducted across 745 centers statewide, with a record-breaking registration of over 3.30 lakh students this year. The exams are scheduled for April 22, 23, and 24, with the Kannada language test held on the first day. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has made extensive arrangements for a transparent process, including a mandatory and strict dress code for all candidates.

High Vigilance at Centers

CCTV Surveillance: All 745 examination centers are equipped with CCTV cameras to monitor every movement.

Identity Verification: A scanning system will be used at the entrance of each examination hall to verify the identity of every student.

Mandatory Dress Code: Important Instructions for Students

To prevent malpractice, the government has enforced the following dress code:

For Male Candidates:

No Full-Sleeved Shirts: Full-sleeved shirts are strictly prohibited. Students are advised to wear half-sleeved shirts or preferably collarless T-shirts.

Avoid Jeans and Kurtas: Students wearing Kurta-Pajamas or jeans will not be allowed entry into the examination center.

No Shoes: Footwear like shoes is not permitted inside the exam hall; wearing simple sandals or slippers is recommended.

For Female Candidates:

Simple Attire: Female candidates must wear simple clothes without elaborate designs.

No Flowers or Brooches: Clothes with large buttons, brooches, or floral decorations are prohibited.

Avoid High Heels: High-heeled shoes or sandals are not allowed.

List of Prohibited Items

Jewelry: Any type of metal jewelry, including bracelets (Kadaga), is banned.

Electronic Gadgets: Mobile phones, smartwatches, and any other electronic devices are strictly prohibited.

Water Bottles & Food: Metal water bottles and eatables are not allowed inside. The centers will provide drinking water facilities.

No Face Coverings: Students cannot wear masks that hide the face or any type of hats/caps.

Mandatory Documents to Carry

Admission Ticket (Hall Ticket): Entry is impossible without a physical copy of the Hall Ticket.

Identity Proof: Candidates must carry an original government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, etc.).

Note: No student will be permitted to leave the examination hall until the final bell rings at the end of the session.
