Congress has made a historic mistake by opposing Women's Reservation: MP Dr. C.N. Manjunath lashes out

"Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a historic decision to provide 33% reservation. The opposition parties are ruining such a golden opportunity," he expressed with regret.

Ramanagara: "By opposing the Women's Reservation Bill, the Congress-led INDIA bloc has shown disrespect to the women of this country," expressed Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Member of Parliament for Bengaluru Rural. Speaking at a press conference in Ramanagara on Wednesday, he strongly condemned the opposition's stance on the Women's Reservation Bill and the Delimitation (delimitation of constituencies) process.

Women's Reservation was Deve Gowda’s Dream

Reminding that women's reservation is not a new concept for the country, the MP said, "In the past, when H.D. Deve Gowda was the Chief Minister, he introduced reservation for women in local bodies. Even when he became the Prime Minister in 1996, he tabled the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament. Unfortunately, it did not pass then. Later, during Vajpayee's tenure, efforts to pass this reservation also met with failure." "Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a historic decision to provide 33% reservation. The opposition parties are ruining such a golden opportunity," he expressed with regret.

Delimitation will not injustice South India

Dismissing the opposition's concerns regarding the delimitation of constituencies, Dr. Manjunath clarified, "Delimitation has not taken place for the last 55 years. When the country's population increases, this process is both inevitable and necessary. The opposition seems to lack even this basic common sense. Delimitation will not cause any injustice to South India or our state; instead, the number of MP seats in Karnataka will increase."

Desperation is evident in Kharge's statement

Responding to the controversial statement allegedly made by Mallikarjun Kharge against PM Modi, the MP retorted, "Such a statement was not expected from a senior leader like Kharge. Desperation born out of defeat is clearly visible in his words. The position of the Prime Minister carries its own dignity; everyone must respect that office. The people are observing everything, and they will provide a fitting answer at the right time."
