Kolar: In a heartbreaking incident, a student who went to celebrate his success in the SSLC examinations drowned in a well. The tragic event took place in Mulbagal taluk of Kolar district.

Mourning Amidst Celebration

The deceased has been identified as Kiran (15), a resident of Sonnavadi village in Mulbagal taluk. Following the announcement of the SSLC results on Thursday, Kiran was jubilant about passing the exams. To celebrate the achievement, he headed to a local well near the village with his friends for a swim.

Life Cut Short During a Swim

Kiran entered the deep well near Sonnavadi village to swim. However, unaware of the depth of the water, he struggled to stay afloat and went missing beneath the surface. Although his friends screamed for help and alerted the locals, their efforts were in vain. Just hours after the results were out, the home that should have been filled with the joy of a son's achievement was instead consumed by the inconsolable cries of his parents.

Search Operations Underway

Personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services department arrived at the spot and are conducting an intensive search for Kiran's body in the deep well. Due to the high water level, retrieving the body has become a significant challenge for the rescue team.

Police Visit

Upon receiving the information, officials from the Mulbagal Rural Police Station visited the spot to conduct an inspection. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway.
