Bidar: In a cruel twist of fate, two young men lost their lives at Navadagi village in Bhalki taluk of the district. The heartbreaking incident occurred when lightning struck a mango tree under which the two friends had taken shelter to escape the rain while working in the fields.
Details of the Incident:
The deceased have been identified as Revanasidda (28), a resident of Navadagi village, and Yallalinga (28), originally from Jevargi. The duo, who were close friends, were engaged in agricultural work in the fields today. During their work, the weather suddenly turned cloudy, and it began to rain heavily. To avoid getting drenched, they ran and stood under a nearby mango tree.
Unfortunately, lightning struck that very tree. The intensity of the strike was so severe that both young men died on the spot.
Grief-Stricken Families:
The untimely death of the two young breadwinners has left their families in a state of deep shock. The cries of the parents and relatives upon seeing the bodies were heart-wrenching. A pall of gloom has descended over the entire Navadagi village.
Police Visit and Investigation:
Upon receiving information about the incident, officials from the Khatak Chincholi Police Station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered at the Khatak Chincholi Police Station.
