Dharwad: Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has put an end to the rumors of a leadership change in the state that have been circulating over the past few days. Speaking to the media in Dharwad, he clarified, "There is no leadership change in the state; all of this is merely a creation of the media."

Discussing political developments, the Minister stated that there is no confusion within the Congress government. "We are all united. Ultimately, we remain committed to whatever decision the High Command takes. No one has set any deadlines regarding the CM change." He further dismissed rumors surrounding Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar’s Delhi visit, stating it was strictly for departmental work and had no other agenda.

Cervical Cancer Vaccine: "Don't Panic, Step Forward"

The Minister addressed misconceptions regarding the Health Department’s crucial Cervical Cancer vaccination project.

"This vaccine is being administered worldwide. In our state alone, over one lakh people have already taken it." He emphasized that 14-year-old girls must strictly receive this vaccine. He appealed to the public to come forward for the vaccination without any fear or anxiety.

Turning to 'Tele-Radiology' to Solve Radiologist Shortage

The shortage of radiologists in the Health Department has persisted for decades. To solve this, the government is launching a 'Tele-Radiology' system. Through this, even in the absence of a physical radiologist, X-rays and scans can be digitized and sent to expert doctors for their professional opinion.

Recruitment of 1,300 PHOs Underway

Responding to questions about the shortage of doctors, the Minister informed that the recruitment process for over 200 specialist doctors has already begun. Additionally, the government has cleared the way to fill 1,300 Public Health Officer (PHO) posts, and the process will commence shortly. He noted that a new proposal has already been submitted to the government in this regard.
