According to preliminary reports, Afridi was targeted by unidentified gunmen, as usually, who fired multiple rounds at him from close range, he was killed on the spot, with the attackers fleeing immediately after the hit. Sheikh Yusuf Afridi was the most significant operative for the LeT, based in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. He was known to be a close aide of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and played a crucial role in the group’s regional operations and logistics. He was also a main brain behind most of the terror attacks on Bharat.

 Afridi’s death marks the 30th hit of the hitlist of unknown gunmen. This hit becomes imperative in Pakistan’s terror business, because Afridi had links both with LeT and Hizbul.

This killing follows a stereotype trend that has seen several wanted terrorists eliminated across Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar. It can be noted that Commander Bilal Arif Salafi was shot and stabbed to death at the LeT headquarters in Muridke shortly after Eid prayers in March and attacks have also targeted other senior terrorists, including a narrow escape of LeT founder member Amir Hamza in Lahore last month. The constant elimination of terrorists, has led to widespread speculation within Pakistan that Bharat is involved in this, however Bharat is of the opinion, the terror groups within Pakistan have gone insane and Munir is not able to control them.
