"Stalin’s stronghold falls! Vijay’s TVK ends Dravidian era in Tamil Nadu. A new wave has begun!"

"Vijay Tsunami Sweeps TN! TVK storms to power with 108 seats, burying DMK & AIADMK dynasties."

TMC had to face the wrath of incumbency in WB, but what went wrong with DMK? How did the Vijay tsunami washed away both DMK and AIADMK and how did Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), emerged as the single largest party, fundamentally shifting the state's political landscape. The results show a stunning debut for TVK, which managed to capture a massive 35% vote share in its first-ever election contested. By winning 108 seats, TVK emerged as ruling party, leaving both DMK and AIADMK with 73 and 53 seats. The most significant element of this election is the defeat of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in his stronghold of Kolathur. Stalin lost to TVK’s V.S. Babu by a margin of 8,795 votes. This is the first time Stalin has lost a seat since 2001 and the first time he has ever lost in Kolathur since its creation in 2008.

Analysts are making direct comparisons to 1977, when Stalin’s father, M. Karunanidhi, suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of another cinema icon, M.G. Ramachandran (MGR).

The anti-incumbency wave, and his derogatory statements on Hindus resulted in Udhayanidhi Stalin’s phenomenal defeat in Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni, indicating a total rejection of the "Dravidian Model" by the youth and urban voters.

One salient fact, not much spoken of is, Vijay had spent a decade transforming his fan clubs (Vijay Makkal Iyakkam) into a disciplined grassroots social service network. By the time TVK launched in 2024, the "booth-level" infrastructure was already more efficient than the two conservative parties. The foundation what Vijay has built over a decade, brought in the change in TN. Putin declares unilateral 2-day ceasefire in Ukraine for Victory Day

Most imperatively, this election had significant young crowd, who were not connected to two traditional parties and they wanted a new wave and they had decided to put an end to dynasties. AIADMK gave Vijay many offers and they called him to join AIADMK many times, but Vijay probably knew and had red the pulse. From the land of Bankim Chandra and Sharat Chandra, a new dawn breaks

TN is a rich and industrially developed state, hope Vijay enhances its industries and economy.
