NELAMANGALA: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Bengaluru North, a 26-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her second husband following a domestic dispute. The tragedy unfolded in Gangondahalli, where a marriage built on "love" ended in a horrific act of violence.
A Second Chance at Love Ends in Tragedy
The victim, identified as Manjula (26), had been previously married to a man named Siddesh five years ago. However, she later fell in love with Appu, a colleague she met at her workplace. Seeking a new beginning, both Manjula and Appu legally divorced their respective first spouses to marry each other. The couple had been living together and were parents to a 3-year-old son.
The Dispute: From Arguments to Assault
Despite their romantic beginnings, the marriage had recently hit a rocky patch:
Professional Lives: Manjula operated a beauty parlor, while Appu was employed in a garment factory.
Constant Friction: For several days, the couple had been frequently quarreling over trivial matters.
The Breaking Point: On the day of the incident, a heated argument escalated to a point of no return.
The Ultimatum: Manjula reportedly told Appu, "I will not stay with you; I am leaving you," and began packing her belongings.
Driven by a fit of rage, Appu allegedly grabbed a machete present in the house and attacked Manjula indiscriminately.
Police Action and Arrest
Neighbors and locals rushed a critically injured Manjula to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
The Madanayakanahalli Police acted swiftly following the report:
Swift Arrest: The accused, Appu, who had initially fled the scene, was apprehended in a rapid police operation.
Investigation: Authorities have already conducted the mahazar (spot inspection) at the crime scene with the accused.
Legal Proceedings: A murder case has been officially registered, and further investigation is currently underway.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of how unchecked domestic rage can destroy families, leaving young children—like the couple's 3-year-old son—to face an uncertain future.
