Koramangala Commuters Disappointed as Ejipura Flyover Misses Yet Another Deadline

Out of a total of 762 segments in the project, casting for 728 segments has already been completed. Currently, only the installation of 15 spans remains pending.

Bengaluru: Commuters in the Koramangala area will have to wait longer for the Ejipura flyover to open for traffic. Although the GBA Commissioner had previously promised that the flyover would be open by the end of July, the construction deadline has been extended once again, forcing motorists to continue their wait.

Deadline Shifted to October

Work that was supposed to be completed in July shows no signs of finishing even as August and September pass. According to information provided by the project's Chief Engineer, Dr. Raghavendra Prasad, the work might require until October to be completed. Even if the work finishes in October, it has been revealed that the flyover will likely only be open for public use by the end of the year.

Current Status of the Work:

Out of a total of 762 segments in the project, casting for 728 segments has already been completed. Currently, only the installation of 15 spans remains pending. Residents of Koramangala are facing a situation where they must wait at least another six months for smooth transit.

Measures for Land Acquisition and Road Widening

The land acquisition process has gained momentum to facilitate a uniform pedestrian path and road widening on the street below the flyover. Necessary steps are being taken by the relevant department to hand over a total of 5998.6 square meters of private and government land, including areas belonging to St. John’s. This ongoing delay has once again caused frustration among the residents of the Ejipura and Koramangala areas.
