Bengaluru: Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has strongly hit back at the opposition BJP leaders for their criticism regarding the Hijab issue. "Hijab is nothing new; it has been there since time immemorial. It was the Bharatiya Janata Party that created a controversy in between," he lashed out directly.
They Provoked People During Their Government!
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru today, Dr. G. Parameshwara said, "Whatever comments or criticisms the opposition makes regarding the Hijab issue, we have no objection. However, everyone knows what kind of policies they implemented when their government was in power. Did they make laws to ensure everything was fine? No, they created laws solely to provoke people," he expressed his outrage.
Home Minister Gives the Example of Janivara!
Speaking about the freedom of religious practices, he gave a indirect jab to the BJP by using the example of the Janivara (sacred thread).
> "We have not asked anyone to wear a Janivara. We have only said not to trouble those who wear it. The same applies to the Hijab; no one has forced anyone to wear it. It is a matter of an individual's personal commitment and faith," Parameshwara clarified.
Key Highlights of Dr. G. Parameshwara's Statement:
Hijab Tradition | It is nothing new; people have been wearing it since the past.

Government's Stance | No one's faith should be harmed; the government has already taken a decision.

Government Has Already Taken a Decision!
"Wearing a Hijab is a practice that has been followed for ages. People should have the freedom to act according to their faith. No one should provoke anyone on this issue. The BJP is making this a big issue purely for political gain. Let them criticize whatever they want, our government has already taken a clear decision on this matter," Parameshwara reiterated, emphasizing that the government's stance on the Hijab issue remains firm.
