The deceased child has been identified as Balaji (9), a resident of Azad Nagar in Keshwapur. A single mistake made out of fear by the young friends he was playing with has now left his parents in deep, unresolvable grief.

Hubballi: In a heart-wrenching incident in Hubballi's Vijayanagar, a nine-year-old boy lost his life after accidentally falling into a water-filled pit dug for a building pillar at a construction site. The deceased child has been identified as Balaji (9), a resident of Azad Nagar in Keshwapur. A single mistake made out of fear by the young friends he was playing with has now left his parents in deep, unresolvable grief.

Did Entering the Compound Cause the Fatality?

Balaji had reportedly walked from Keshwapur towards Vijayanagar while playing with two of his friends. During this time, he entered a compound to pick up a fallen coconut. However, a deep trench had been excavated at the site to lay pillars for a new building. Due to recent rains, the pit was completely filled with water. In his rush to get the coconut, Balaji accidentally fell into the deep pit. Since the hole was excessively deep, he began to drown.

Friends Fled in Fear!

Upon seeing Balaji drowning in the water, the two boys who accompanied him panicked with fear. Terrified by the situation, they fled the spot immediately. Furthermore, out of sheer fright, they remained completely silent and did not disclose the incident to their own parents or anyone else.

Missing Complaint Brings a Twist: Body Found on CCTV!

When Balaji did not return home even late into the evening, his anxious parents searched for him everywhere. Unable to find him, they lodged a missing person's complaint with the police. Registering the case, the police launched an investigation and reviewed CCTV camera footage along the route the boy had taken.

The CCTV footage revealed Balaji walking towards the Vijayanagar compound with his friends. The police rushed to the spot immediately, and upon inspection, found the boy's body floating in the pillar pit. A case has been registered regarding the incident at the Ashoka Nagar Police Station in Hubballi, and the police are taking further legal action. The cries of the parents have reached a crescendo upon seeing their son, who went out to play, return as a corpse.
