Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz have officially ordered fresh airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahiyeh). This escalation marks a significant expansion of Israel's military operations in Lebanon, running parallel to high-stakes, ongoing diplomatic negotiations in the region.

In a joint statement, Netanyahu and Katz announced they instructed the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) to target alleged Hezbollah strongholds in the Dahiyeh quarter of southern Beirut.
