Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz have officially ordered fresh airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahiyeh). This escalation marks a significant expansion of Israel's military operations in Lebanon, running parallel to high-stakes, ongoing diplomatic negotiations in the region.

In a joint statement, Netanyahu and Katz announced they instructed the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) to target alleged Hezbollah strongholds in the Dahiyeh quarter of southern Beirut. Netanyahu stated that Beirut would no longer remain out of bounds if Hezbollah continued its attacks on Israeli cities. After the warning, large numbers of residents were seen fleeing the area.

The IDF has summoned forced evacuation orders for residents across seven villages in southern Lebanon. The villages are, Houmine al-Faouqa, Bnaafoul, Arab Salim, Roumine, Aazze, Arki (Arkey) and Jbaa.
