The US military launched "self-defence" strikes on Qeshm Island, a highly strategic Iranian territory located at the Strait of Hormuz.
The strikes successfully hit and disabled an Iranian military ground control station and an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps communications tower. CENTCOM stated these facilities were actively being used to coordinate threats against regional neighbours and maritime shipping.
Hours before this, the US military used a Hellfire missile to disable a Botswana-flagged oil tanker (M/T Lexie) that was attempting to run an American blockade to reach an Iranian port.
In response to the US strikes, Iran launched several ballistic missiles and drones targeting Gulf states. However, all Iranian attacks failed to hit their intended targets.
Kuwait was attacked with two ballistic missiles and Bahrain was attacked with three missiles by Iran, but all the missiles were intercepted.
However, air raid sirens were triggered in both Kuwait and Bahrain, prompting Bahrain to temporarily shut down its airspace and ground civilian flights. Pakistan’s economy is on life support, but their lobbyists are flying first class
The IRGC claimed that its missile and drone barrage successfully targeted US assets in the region, including a US airbase and the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, but the US military denied these claims, stating that no US personnel were harmed and that all Iranian attacks directed at American forces failed miserably. Despite both countries are still in the process of ceasefire, instantaneous air strikes from both countries have ignited the Gulf arena. As on June 2nd, Iran, US, Israel have indulged in air attacks and Kuwait and Bahrain are the victims for no mistakes. Though there is no official statement from any of the parties, the prevailing war ambience cannot be denied.
