The case was brought before a summer vacation bench, with his legal team seeking urgent relief and interim protection from any coercive actions by the investigative agency. Banerjee was earlier summoned to appear at the CID headquarters (Bhavani Bhavan) on Monday, June 1. On the morning of the scheduled appearance, he requested a 15-day extension, quoting medical and personal obstacles after being assaulted during a public visit in Sonarpur.
The CID rejected this request and issued a fresh directive ordering him to strictly appear on June 8. Banerjee’s legal counsel moved the vacation bench of Justice Apurba Sinha Roy. The court has permitted the formal filing of the petition, and the case is highly likely to be heard on June 5.

Two TMC MLAs, Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha, formally complained to the Assembly Speaker, contending that no such resolution meeting ever took place and that the document was completely fabricated. They highlighted that several signatures were suspiciously written in block letters.
As per investigative reports, at least three TMC MLAs, Baharul Islam, Arup Roy, and Subhasis Das, have formally stated to the CID that they did not sign the document. Nashik TCS Job Scam: Former AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel’s name surfaces in police chargesheet
Abhishek Banerjee has dismissed the entire investigation as a case of "political vendetta and abuse of power". He upholds that he has nothing to hide and will fight the matter through legal channels.
