Karnataka’s Leader of Opposition, R. Ashoka, has launched a scathing counterattack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of electoral fraud against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a fiery response, Ashoka targeted the Gandhi family’s political legacy, accusing them of securing power through deceitful means across four generations.
“Your four generations have won through fraud,” he declared, challenging the credibility of Congress’s electoral victories and political strategies. Ashoka dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s accusations as “baseless” and a desperate attempt to mask Congress’s political failures. He pointed to the Congress party’s history of governance, alleging it was marred by corruption, economic mismanagement, and broken promises to the public.

He further criticized Rahul’s claims as an effort to cast doubt on BJP’s legitimate electoral successes, which he attributed to the people’s mandate. Upholding the independence of the Election Commission of India, Ashoka asserted that BJP’s victories reflect the will of the electorate.
“Instead of blaming the BJP for your loss of public trust, introspect on your party’s governance failures,” he retorted. The exchange has intensified political tensions in Karnataka, where the BJP is aggressively challenging the ruling Congress government. Ashoka has consistently accused the Congress-led state government of corruption, financial mismanagement, and failing to fulfill promises to farmers, workers, and ordinary citizens.
