Allegations Against Dharmasthala Cannot Be Tolerated... Priests' Family Approaches High Court! Verdict Expected Within Two Weeks!

A case related to defamatory allegations against Dharmasthala priests circulating in media and social media platforms has reached the Supreme Court, which has directed the Sessions Court to review the documents and deliver a verdict within two weeks.

A series of allegations have been made against the priests of Dharmasthala, a revered spiritual center in India. These claims have cast a shadow of controversy over the sacred site, which attracts thousands of devotees daily. Unable to tolerate the defamatory content circulating in media outlets and YouTube channels, Harshendra Kumar D, the brother of Dharmasthala’s priests, has approached the court for legal recourse. A verdict on the matter is expected within two weeks.

Due to derogatory remarks made against the Dharmasthala priests on social media and YouTube channels, Harshendra Kumar D filed a petition requesting that media outlets be restrained from publishing defamatory content. On Friday, August 8, the Supreme Court instructed the Bengaluru Civil Sessions Court to conduct a hearing on the petition. The Supreme Court further directed the Sessions Court to review the documents submitted by the petitioner and issue a verdict within two weeks.Boost Your Health with Flat Beans: A Nutrient-Packed Superfood..!

The Supreme Court rejected a plea to stay the High Court’s ruling and stated that the matter should proceed in the Sessions Court. The court observed that the language used in the documents submitted by Harshendra Kumar was derogatory and defamatory, and it forwarded these documents to the Sessions Court for further review. The Supreme Court emphasized that the trial court should make an independent decision.

The case was heard before a bench led by Justices Rajesh Bindal and Manmohan, with senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi representing the petitioner. Rohatgi argued that media outlets were spreading defamatory content before the completion of any investigation. Previously, in connection with a funeral-related case in Dharmasthala, the High Court had overturned an order against the YouTube channel ‘Kudla Rampage.’ The local court had issued an order preventing Harshendra Kumar D and his family from publishing defamatory content.

It is evident that the courts are taking a firm stance to protect the dignity of Dharmasthala’s priests against defamatory content in media and social media.
