The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, forecasting heavy rainfall across 17 districts, including Bengaluru, until August 17, disrupting daily life, agriculture. in Bengaluru, rain continued from Sunday evening through Monday morning, flooding numerous roads and severely impacting mobility.

Residents are finding it challenging to venture outdoors due to the chaotic conditions. The city is under a cloudy sky, with rain likely at any moment, prompting warnings for people to avoid unnecessary travel. Districts such as Chamarajanagar, Gadag, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, Ramanagara, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, and Vijayanagar are also expected to receive heavy rainfall.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Bagalkote, Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, and Tumakuru. These areas may experience widespread rain, with some regions at risk of flood-like situations due to excessive rainfall.

Coastal districts like Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi have reported traffic disruptions and fallen trees due to the downpour. While the rains have brought some relief to farmers, excessive rainfall raises concerns about crop damage.

In parts of North Karnataka, flood-like conditions have already led to crop losses. The state government and local authorities are working cautiously, urging people to move to safer locations and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
