Dharmasthala: The state BJP has launched a strong protest against the government’s decision to hand over the alleged mass burial case in Dharmasthala village to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for probe. In this context, under the leadership of BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra, a plan has been made to visit the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Temple today (August 17) to seek darshan of Sri Manjunath Swamy. A team of MLAs will accompany him, and the BJP is preparing to express its support for protecting the sanctity of Dharmasthala. Over the past few days, allegations have surfaced that an unidentified individual buried several bodies decades ago in Dharmasthala, sparking widespread discussion across the state. In response, BJP workers are heading to Dharmasthala under the slogan ‘We Stand with Dharmasthala.’ Vijayendra is scheduled to arrive in Dharmasthala this morning, accompanied by MLAs from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Hassan, and Chikkamagaluru districts. Following a rally organized on Saturday (August 16) with over 400 vehicles under the leadership of MLA S.R. Vishwanath, a special pooja will be performed at the temple today. Vijayendra stated, “We are not going as BJP workers but as devotees of Sri Manjunath Swamy and Annappa Swamy to seek darshan. The SIT investigation appears to be an attempt to create confusion.
