A case (Crime No. 42/2025) has been registered against him at the Dharmasthala Police Station under sections 192, 240, and 353(1)(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act. The accusations stem from an AI-generated video on his YouTube channel, which allegedly contains fabricated information intended to incite public unrest and tarnish Dharmasthala’s sanctity. The case originates from a former sanitation worker’s claim of being coerced into burying hundreds of bodies between 1995 and 2014, prompting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe. Sameer’s video, which police claim includes fictitious details beyond the whistleblower’s account, is said to have provoked public emotions and damaged Dharmasthala’s religious reputation.

The SIT, tasked with investigating the mass burial allegations, has taken a serious view of Sameer’s actions, as they risk derailing the ongoing probe with misinformation.Sameer MD has previously received two notices but failed to appear for questioning, citing safety concerns due to alleged attacks on YouTubers in Dharmasthala. When police visited his Bengaluru residence in Jigani, his family reported that he was not present, raising suspicions that he may be evading authoritie.
