A new controversy has erupted around Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who has been at the center of political debate in Karnataka since the RSS anthem controversy.
Now, during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, he has made another controversial statement, claiming that Chamundi Hill is not exclusively Hindu property. This statement has been strongly opposed by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, creating a stir.
After the opposition parties criticized the invitation extended to Banu Mushtaq for the Dasara inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's statement that Chamundi Hill is not Hindu property has drawn sharp condemnation from Yaduveer.
Calling the statement "laughable," Yaduveer said he was shocked to learn about such a remark during a religious festival. He stated that the comment is offensive to Hindu sentiments and emphasized the historical significance of Chamundi Hill.
DKS Tweets a Retort to BJP
In response to the BJP's objections regarding the invitation of Banu Mushtaq to inaugurate Mysuru Dasara, D.K. Shivakumar has taken to Twitter with a sharp reply. "Politics should not be mixed with religion," he tweeted, hitting back at the BJP.
DKS further stated that visiting and praying to Goddess Chamundi is a right for everyone and is not limited to any single group. He asserted that the BJP's arguments clearly show their selfish political agenda.
Pratap Simha and Banu Mushtaq in a War of Words -
The controversy surrounding the selection of Banu Mushtaq for the Mysuru Dasara inauguration continues to escalate. BJP MP Pratap Simha criticized her, asking, "We aren't opposing you because you are a Muslim. But do you, who do not believe in idol worship, worship Goddess Chamundi?"
In response to this accusation, Banu Mushtaq stated, "I respect all religions and beliefs. Now, the Goddess herself has called for me," intensifying the political dispute surrounding the Dasara inauguration.
