Shock to Those Who Demolished Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s Memorial... Government Responds to Fans’ Pain

The Karnataka government has decided to take possession of the disputed Abhiman Studio land, where Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s memorial was demolished, amid years of controversy. Fans are urging the government to allow the creation of a sacred memorial site despite the ongoing forest land dispute.

The government is now moving to resolve the decades-long controversies surrounding the Abhiman Studio land through legal action. A significant cause of the dispute was an agreement by Balakrishna’s grandson to sell one acre of the studio land for ₹14.37 crore, which would amount to ₹144 crore for the entire 10 acres.

The government’s recent move sends a strong message about the importance of law to the owners of Abhiman Studio, who demolished Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s memorial. The government has announced its decision to seize the land and bring it under its control. This has been seen as justice by activists who have consistently raised their voices against financial irregularities related to the land.

Many have expressed joy, stating that justice has finally been served for the 15 years of pain, tears, and helplessness felt by countless fans. However, declaring the Abhiman Studio land as "forest land" has caused confusion among some. There is concern that this classification might hinder the construction of a memorial for Dr. Vishnuvardhan and Balakrishna.

In this context, fans are demanding that the government create a simple memorial surrounded by trees and plants, ensuring it complies with forest land regulations. Otherwise, there is a sentiment that this decision might only serve to console those who demolished Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s memorial, like Karthik, whose dreams have also been shattered.

There has long been a demand for a judicial inquiry to uncover the truth behind how the studio owners misled the government, courts, fans, and the family. Following the start of the legislative session, a call was received from the Chief Minister’s office. The Chief Minister convened a meeting with officials and sought more information. At that time, a request was made for a judicial inquiry to ascertain the truth about the land, rectify the wrongs, and preserve the sacred site. The government has now taken its first step, and it has been decided to continue the fight until this issue reaches a logical conclusion. The land must be fully acquired by the government, and the memorials of Dr. Vishnuvardhan and Balakrishna should be rebuilt
