Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on September 1, 2025, announced that senior officials with extensive administrative experience will be appointed as commissioners for the five newly formed municipal corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) — namely Bengaluru East, West, North, South, and Central.
Speaking to the press at Vidhana Soudha, Shivakumar stated that the government has decided to appoint locally serving officers with a strong track record in civic administration to these positions. The five corporations collectively cover 27 assembly constituencies and 197 wards, and are part of a broader plan to deliver better services and infrastructure development in the city.Vogaan Men's Polo Shirt and Shorts Set | Summer Fashion Short Sleeve Solid Zipper 2 Pieces Outfits for Men
"The officials appointed will be those who have already served as Deputy Commissioners or have substantial experience in urban governance," he said. The GBA officially came into effect from today (Sept 1), and the appointments aim to provide long-pending clarity and momentum to the new administrative structure.
A meeting was held to discuss which officers should be posted to which corporations, with a clear preference to deploy those who are already familiar with the local administrative landscape. This marks a major administrative boost to the GBA, which had so far lacked clarity regarding its key personnel.Supporters and Swamijis Plan Delhi Protest to Reinstate KN Rajanna in Karnataka Cabinet
