Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has stated that the state government has no objection if the Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiates a probe into allegations of foreign funding to NGOs in connection with the Dharmasthala case. Parameshwara also reiterated that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is responsibly handling the ongoing investigation into the alleged mass graves case at Dharmasthala. He emphasized that there is no need to transfer the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Parameshwara stated:

“There’s no need for an NIA probe; the SIT is doing its job well. I’ve said it, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister has said it too. Just because someone demands it daily doesn’t make it necessary.”Senior Officials to Be Appointed as Commissioners for Five GBA Corporations: DK Shivakumar Announces

He added that if the ED wants to investigate NGO funding, they are free to do so, and the government will not object.

The issue was sparked by certain BJP MPs and leaders, who raised concerns over alleged foreign funding to some individuals and YouTubers supposedly involved in a “conspiracy” against the Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Temple. On August 19, 2025, BJP MP Kota Srinivas Poojary wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging an ED investigation into these allegations.

Parameshwara also appealed to both political sides not to politicize the investigation and advised everyone to wait for the SIT report before jumping to conclusions. He refused to disclose any investigation-related details and warned the public and media against spreading speculation until the official report is submitted.
