Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reportedly asked Bhovi Development Corporation Chairman Ravi Kumar to resign, following serious allegations of corruption involving crores of rupees.

During the 2024–25 fiscal year, over ₹97 crore has allegedly been misappropriated or illegally transferred within the corporation. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are already investigating the case.

Former General Manager B.K. Nagarajappa and former Managing Director R. In addition, an independent audit report revealed that during the 2021–22 financial year, irregularities amounting to ₹88.74 crore were found, including ₹42.58 crore allegedly misused under the guise of allocations.

State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra and other BJP leaders had strongly demanded action against Chairman Ravi Kumar, especially for allegedly collecting money directly from beneficiaries. This incident follows closely on the heels of the Valmiki Development Corporation scam and MUDA land scam, further deepening concerns over corruption in Karnataka's state-run welfare bodies.
