Responding to BJP leaders’ demands for an NIA probe, the minister clarified, “If the NIA wants to investigate, we have no objection. However, the state government will not hand over the case to the NIA. The SIT is already examining the case comprehensively.”

Dharmasthala: The Karnataka state government has refused to hand over the investigation of the Dharmasthala case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is already conducting a thorough probe, while BJP leaders are pressing for an NIA investigation.


The state government has declined to transfer the Dharmasthala case investigation to the NIA. Addressing the issue, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara stated that since the SIT is already meticulously investigating the case, there is no need to involve the NIA.Responding to BJP leaders’ demands for an NIA probe, the minister clarified, “If the NIA wants to investigate, we have no objection. The SIT is already examining the case comprehensively.”Commenting on the visit of BJP leaders to Soujanya’s residence, Parameshwara expressed uncertainty about their intentions, stating, “We don’t know their motive. If any lapses are found in the SIT probe, then another agency can step in.”Speaking about the visit of SIT chief Pranav Mohanty, the minister noted that Mohanty’s visit was not solely related to the Dharmasthala case. “He comes to discuss other matters as well. Discussions will proceed based on what Chinnaiah has stated,” Parameshwara explained.
