This is the Biggest Victory for Kannadigas: Malayalam Film Team Issues Apology! Know Where and When

A controversial dialogue by the antagonist in the movie Lokah sparked outrage among Karnataka audiences, prompting the producers to issue a public apology. The film team has also promised to edit the contentious scene.

A dialogue in Lokah, produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, was accused of hurting the sentiments of Karnataka’s people, leading to a public apology from the film team. The controversy reportedly arose from an objectionable dialogue about Bengaluru women spoken by the film’s antagonist.

On Monday, September 2, Wayfarer Films released an official statement, saying, “This was an oversight, and there was no intent to offend.” The production house assured that the controversial dialogue would be removed or edited as soon as possible.

“At Wayfarer Films, we prioritize people above everything else. We deeply regret this oversight and assure you that no offense was intended,” the statement read. “We sincerely apologize for the hurt caused and humbly request you to accept our apology,” it added.

Directed by Dominic Arun and co-written with Santhy Balachandran, Lokah is the first installment of a Malayalam superhero universe. Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, along with Naslen and a supporting cast of young actors, the film has been praised for its visual grandeur, technical finesse, and attempt to build an indigenous fantasy franchise.
