A celebration of Tulu culture is set to take place at Bantara Bhavan in Vijayanagar on September 7. Organized by the Tulu Nadu Javanyer Bengaluru (R), the event, titled 'Astemida Isira - Tuluva Tirlu Sasira,' aims to bring the vibrant traditions of the Tulu-speaking community to the capital city. The festival is expected to draw a large crowd, including both people from the coastal region and residents of Bengaluru.
The event promises to create an authentic Tulu Nadu atmosphere with a variety of cultural programs.
Highlights will include:
Chende Nalike: Traditional drum dance
Pili Vesha: The popular tiger dance
Vanasa Thenasa: A food festival featuring Tuluva cuisine
Tulu Pattanga: Cultural discussions and talks
Tuluva Siri: Showcasing the rich heritage of Tulu culture
In addition to these, the festival will feature Yakshagana performances, dance dramas, plays, and various sports and games, all celebrating the essence of the Tulu language and its traditions.
A Grand Celebration of Krishna Janmashtami
The extravagant event is being held as part of the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. The festival will be a showcase of Tulu and folk traditions, with a special focus on the region's cultural richness. Attendees of all ages, including children and seniors, are expected to participate in a wide range of activities.
The event will also include theatre performances and an 'Isira' fashion show, making it a grand celebration of Tuluva pride and heritage. Dignitaries and prominent figures from the community are also expected to grace the occasion.
