Bird Strike Disrupts Vijayawada-Nagpur Flights; New Terminal Inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh

Flights between Vijayawada and Nagpur faced cancellations due to bird strikes, while passengers in Arunachal Pradesh gain new convenience with the inauguration of a 640 crore rupees terminal at Donny Polu Airport.

While preparing for takeoff from Vijayawada to Bengaluru, an Air India Express flight was canceled after a bird collided with the aircraft. The incident occurred at Vijayawada Airport in Gannavaram, Andhra Pradesh, where the bird struck the front of the plane on the runway. Similarly, an Indigo Airlines flight from Nagpur to Kolkata faced the same issue. Shortly after takeoff from Nagpur Airport in Maharashtra, a bird strike forced the flight to be canceled to ensure the safety of passengers and crew. The flight was carrying 165 passengers.


In Arunachal Pradesh, a new terminal at Donny Polu Airport was inaugurated today. The inauguration was jointly conducted by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Chief Minister Pema Khandu. Built at a cost of approximately 640 crore rupees, Holongi Airport is Arunachal Pradesh’s first greenfield airport. It was initially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2022.
